European folklore is populated by strange and terrifying Christmas creatures from pre-Christian horned gods to wassailing mummers who want to invade your house. This series comes from a growing collection of Christmas cards I make once a year.

MILLION DOLLAR AMERICAN PRINCESSES

 

This project supported the marketing of Smithsonian Channel's Million Dollar American Princesses show, a series of documentaries on American heiresses who married into British aristocracy during the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. Check out the episodes here.

TÁIN BÓ CÚAILNGE

 

The Táin, or Cattle Raid of Cooley is part of a group of myths that make up the Ulster Cycle—a body of Irish sagas that tell the story of the heroes of Ulster. These longform watercolours are exerpted from a series of illustrations of the life of the hero Cú Chulainn.
